Caring for Your Jewellery
Every piece of Hellcat Jewellery is handcrafted using precious metals and carefully selected gemstones. With a little care, your jewellery can be treasured for years to come.
Everyday Care
To keep your jewellery looking its best, we recommend:
- Removing jewellery before showering, swimming, exercising or sleeping.
- Avoiding contact with perfumes, lotions, cleaning products, chlorine and other chemicals.
- Removing rings before gardening, lifting weights or carrying out activities that could cause knocks, scratches or pressure.
- Storing jewellery separately in a cool, dry place to prevent scratches and tangling.
Sterling Silver & Gold
Sterling silver naturally tarnishes over time, particularly when exposed to moisture, chemicals and certain skincare products. Tarnishing is a normal characteristic of silver and can usually be removed with a suitable jewellery polishing cloth.
Solid gold is more resistant to tarnishing but can still become dull or scratched through everyday wear.
Both metals benefit from regular gentle cleaning to maintain their appearance.
Gemstone Jewellery
Gemstones and their settings require additional care. Even hard gemstones, including diamonds, can chip or become damaged if knocked.
Avoid exposing gemstone jewellery to sudden temperature changes and harsh chemicals.
We recommend periodically checking your jewellery for loose stones or damaged settings. If you notice any movement, stop wearing the piece and contact us for advice.
Cleaning Your Jewellery
For suitable pieces, gently clean with lukewarm water, mild soap and a soft cloth, then rinse carefully and dry thoroughly.
Some gemstones and finishes require specialist cleaning, so please contact us if you're unsure which method is suitable for your jewellery.
Repairs & Maintenance
Over time, jewellery may develop scratches, tarnishing or signs of wear. This is normal, particularly for rings worn daily.
